Juneteenth...Testing

I have tried this before. I am trying it again.

Perhaps, this time, it may just go beyond one post.

Today, on the other side of town, Arundhati Roy reminds us again that "There is really no such thing as the voiceless. There are only the deliberately silenced, or the preferably unheard."

Arun must know what she is talking about, certainly. Kerala has a way of making its children that perceptive. And then when you happen to be an Arundhati, this precocious mastery of existential mysteries and eloquent rendition of the same, becomes even more pronounced...

But this seventh attempt at blogging is about more than Arundhati Roy, narrowly defined. It is about voices and viewpoints. And also about underrated silences that must ultimately thunder.

So, we begin again.
At the beginning long overdue.
With shadows straddling our hope-scapes
And doubt artists preparing new drafts
Of requiems
For dreams perpetually deferred

But, let us begin, again!
